Witnesses sought to Macquarie stabbing on New Year’s Day

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses and information regarding a stabbing that occurred in Macquarie last night, Saturday 1 January 2022.  

About 8.20pm police were called to a disturbance in Catchpole Street, Macquarie and located a 38-year-old man who had been stabbed in the abdomen. He was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  

Witnesses described four people who had been interacting with the man: 

·         A Caucasian woman, under 25-years-old with long dark hair and a thin build who was wearing a short tight dress. 

·         A second Caucasian woman, under 25-years-old with dark clothing.  

·         Two males – one of which was on a bike. 

The women left the scene towards Bowman Street and the men left the scene towards the Jamison Ovals. 

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or drivers with dash-cam footage of the group or incident at about 8.20pm last night to come forward.
