Woman arrested for Garran ram raid and drug offences

ACT Policing arrested a 32-year-old Ainslie woman on Thursday 22 June, in connection with a ram-earlier this week. She was allegedly in possession of drugs when arrested.

The ram-raid occurred in Garran about 3.45am Monday 19 June, when a stolen Toyota Celica was allegedly used to force entry to a liquor store. A cash register, 18 bottles of liquor, and 477 packets of cigarettes were allegedly stolen.

The Celica was later located burnt out in Bonner.

On Thursday afternoon, police located the woman in a Phillip shopping centre, and placed her under arrest. A subsequent search allegedly located bags containing methamphetamines, cocaine, and heroin.

The woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with aggravated burglary, three counts of possessing a drug of dependence, and breach of good behaviour obligations.
