Woman dies in Kambah house fire

A 70-year-old woman has died in a house fire in Kambah last night. Around 7.45pm yesterday (Sunday 29 November) ACT Policing assisted ACT Fire & Rescue in responding to reports of a fire at a home in Kambah.

ACT Fire & Rescue located two people inside the home at the time of the fire.

Sadly a 70-year-old-woman died inside the house and a 74-year-old man was treated by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and taken to hospital.

The cause of the Kambah house fire is not yet known but at this time there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances. Police are continuing the investigation. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
