Your guide to New Year’s Eve around Canberra

Out with the old and in with the new – it’s time to say goodbye to the ups and downs that came along with 2022 and welcome in 2023.

From the traditional to the lavish, CW has put together a list of the best ways to countdown to midnight this New Year’s Eve.


Fireworks by the Lake: Events ACT has a spectacular night planned with firework displays at 9pm and midnight. There will be four hubs hosting live entertainment and food vendors so grab a rug and head on down from 6pm. More details at events.canberra.com.au

Monaro Folk Society: Dance your way into the new year with the Woolshed Hoppers – all dances are called, so even newbies can join in!
