14 new COVID cases in Southern NSW, five in Queanbeyan

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded 14 new COVID-19 cases, with five in the Queanbeyan Palerang LGA.

The five Queanbeyan cases are spread out with Bungendore, Bywong, Crestwood and Queanbeyan all recording at least one infection. It is the highest daily number in the Queanbeyan Palerang LGA since 18 November.

Snowy Monaro has four new cases, all of them are in Cooma.

The Eurobodalla LGA has reported three cases, one each in Lilli Pilli, Malua Bay and Batemans Bay.

Bega Valley has one new case in Candelo while Yass also recorded one additional case

This brings the total number of cases in the SNSWLHD to 670 since the start of the outbreak in June.

The areas within the SNSWLHD that have cases under ‘virtual care’ are Queanbeyan Palerang (14), Snowy Monaro (13), Goulburn Mulwaree (7) Eurobodalla (5), Bega Valley (4) and Yass Valley (1).

There are now two people in hospital with the virus.

The news comes as NSW hit yet another daily record of COVID-19 cases with 5,715 infections and one death.

The ACT also recorded its highest daily tally with 85 new cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
