UPDATE: 33-year-old Shane Watson’s body found

UPDATE: A body found on Friday 28 April beside the Tuggeranong Parkway near the Cotter Road overpass has been identified as missing 33-year-old man Shane Watson.


BEFORE: ACT Policing is issuing an urgent plea for further public assistance to locate missing 33-year-old man Shane Watson.

Shane has not been seen or heard from since the end of March, and his family says it is out of character for him to do this.

Police attended his home in Bonython on Sunday 16 April, and it was clear the residence had been left without any planning.

He has not accessed his bank accounts recently, he may not have access to a phone, and he is unlikely to be driving a vehicle.

Police hold serious concerns for Shane’s welfare and are seeking any information from the public that may help to locate him.

Anyone who has spoken with, or who may have seen Mr Watson since early April, is urged to contact police, especially if he gave any indication as to where he may have been going.

Anyone who has any information regarding Shane’s whereabouts is urged to contact ACT Policing on 131 444.


BEFORE: ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance to locate missing 33-year-old man Shane Watson.

Shane has not been seen or heard from since Friday, 31 March 2023, and his residence was recently found unsecured.

He is described as being of a tanned Caucasian appearance, about 190cm (6’3”) tall, with short brown hair, brown eyes, and of muscular build.  

Shane does not normally drive and may not have his phone with him.

Police and Shane’s family hold concerns for his welfare and are requesting the public’s assistance in locating him.
