The ‘yes and ‘no’ cases for the Indigenous voice referendum are set to be published on the electoral commission’s website.
Electoral commissioner Tom Rogers said the cases would be published next Tuesday in separate documents, exactly as they had been received by Monday’s deadline.
“Whatever we have received will be published the very next day, in order to provide visibility to voters,” Mr Rogers said.
“Our role here is as a post-box only and this impending raw publication of each authorised case is the first aspect of our independent delivery role.”
Mr Rogers said the electoral commission would then get to work completing the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ case pamphlets for printing, and create a range of translated versions.
“Producing alternative versions of each case is a particularly methodical, careful body of work especially noting that some English terms do not have direct translations,” he said.
The preparation of each case for the pamphlet is being completed by members of parliament.
A referendum is expected to be held between October and December.
