Opposition leader announces Liberal Shadow Ministry

Leader of the Opposition Leanne Castley has announced her Shadow Ministry.

Ms Castley was elected as the leader of the Canberra Liberals on 31 October and Jeremy Hanson was elected as Deputy Leader.

She became the leader after Elizabeth Lee led the Liberals to yet another election defeat.

Andrew Barr was re-elected as Chief Minister following the 2024 ACT Legislative Assembly election.

Ms Castley’s focus will be on connecting with the Canberra community and listening to their concerns and to hold the government to account.

She said part of the party’s focus was to “fight to bring common sense back into government to address the cost-of-living crisis, falling health and education services, and the lack of basic municipal services”.
