ACT records 11 new COVID-19 cases, three more Omicron infections

The ACT has recorded 11 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, the first double digit infections in Canberra since 24 November.

The active coronavirus cases has risen slightly to 76, with the total number of cases for the outbreak now 2,072.

Hospitalisation rates have remained the same, with five patients being treated while two of those are in intensive care and none requiring ventilation.

Vaccination rates remain at 98.2 per cent, with an updated figure to come on Monday.

1,492 negative tests were returned in the past 24 hours.

The total number of Omicron cases in the ACT is now at 10 after three new infections of the COVID-19 variant were identified today.

Meanwhile, NSW cases continue to rise with 560 recorded today, while Victoria reported 1,193 new infections and 13 deaths.
