ACT records 11th road fatality for 2022

The ACT has recorded its 11th road fatality for 2022 after a 42-year-old man died following a two-vehicle collision in Kambah on Monday evening, 29 August.   

About 5.40pm, police and emergency services were called to the collision on Sulwood Drive near Colquhoun Street, Kambah.    

A Volkswagen station wagon and a 4WD utility had collided head-on and the driver of the station wagon was trapped in his vehicle.   

Emergency services extricated a 42-year-old man from the Volkswagen, however, despite emergency assistance, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

The driver of the 4WD was also extracted from her vehicle and was transported to hospital with minor injuries.  

This is the 11th road fatality in the ACT this year. Police continue to urge drivers to slow down and drive to the conditions.   

ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Team is conducting an investigation into the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
