ACT records 11th road fatality for 2022

The ACT has recorded its 11th road fatality for 2022 after a 42-year-old man died following a two-vehicle collision in Kambah on Monday evening, 29 August.

About 5.40pm, police and emergency services were called to the collision on Sulwood Drive near Colquhoun Street, Kambah.

A Volkswagen station wagon and a 4WD utility had collided head-on and the driver of the station wagon was trapped in his vehicle.

Emergency services extricated a 42-year-old man from the Volkswagen, however, despite emergency assistance, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the 4WD was also extracted from her vehicle and was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Team is conducting an investigation into the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured dash-cam footage of it (who has not already spoken to police) is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.  Quote reference number P2098327.
