A statement from the publisher, Nick Samaras

I am proud to report that the latest 112-page edition of Canberra Daily was distributed today, as usual.

A sister publication, Newcastle Weekly, suffered losses that were exacerbated by the COVID lockdown, resulting in its closure and subsequent sale earlier this year, which necessitated a company restructure.

Some of our media competitors in this town, with ulterior motives and hidden agendas, will want to have their say to suit their purposes.

For Canberra Daily, it is business as usual, serving our community with our free daily news on canberradaily.com.au and through our weekly magazine.

A sincere thank-you to our loyal advertisers and readers. We will continue to serve you.

Nick Samaras, Founder and Publisher, Canberra Daily

Canberra Daily will continue to publish 51 print editions a year, as we have for the past 14 years since we started in 2009, and fresh online content daily. Photo: Kerrie Brewer
