ARC, the latest venture from Canberra coffee roasters Redbrick, opens today, Monday 1 February, in the new Constitution Place building in the CBD.

ARC takes its name from the curves of the building it calls home and promises to showcase a refined menu of classic breakfast and lunch dishes that pair perfectly with the roaster’s four specialty coffee blends.

“It’s a menu that’s really approachable and sits really well with coffee and something that people can feel really comfortable eating every day, if they’re working in the precinct, or for special occasions as well,” says Redbrick’s owner and founder of ARC, Tim Manning.

“We’ve put together a classic omelette, which is something I’ve always loved having on a breakfast menu … the hotcakes are amazing, and then just a small tweak on doing a classic eggs benedict,” Tim says of his favourite menu items.

For lunch, he urges people to try the pumpkin salad: “when the chefs served that up for us, it did everything that we’re looking for”.

And for those looking to wind down in the PM, ARC will also have a few wines, beers and cocktails on the menu for afternoon drinks.

The fifth location in their local collective, ARC is a symbol of Redbrick’s success in the ACT over the past decade, something that’s now being felt globally as the brand explores the South Korean market, supplying coffee to venues in Seoul.

“It’s Redbrick’s 10th year in operation; we started in a 40sqm corner shop in Curtin, and through the support of the local Curtin community in that space, and the Canberra coffee community, we’ve had the opportunity to grow,” says Tim.

“Having a space like ARC open continues the opportunity for the brand to grow and really showcase what Canberra coffee and Canberra hospitality has achieved.”

Redbrick’s love for its hometown shines through in ARC’s fit out, too, with interiors from local firm Capezio Copeland and furniture by local designer Tom Skeehan. The branding was designed by local agency Good Times.

“In having such a beautiful location in the heart of the city we wanted the space itself to reflect the talent and the evolution of Canberra and the talented people that are here,” says Tim.

ARC will be open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch at 1 Constitution Avenue in the City. The Constitution Place precinct will be home to ACT Government offices, a hotel and a number of retail and dining spaces.
