Canberra Liberals leader Elizabeth Lee welcomes second daughter

Canberra Liberals leader Elizabeth Lee has this week given birth to her second daughter, Ava.

“Welcome to the world, baby Ava,” Ms Lee wrote on Facebook. “A little earlier than anticipated, but she’s perfect, and we are all smitten already.”

Ms Lee is on maternity leave from the Legislative Assembly. She said she and her husband, Nathan, looked forward to spending time with Ava and their older daughter Mia before Ms Lee returns to politics in a couple of months.

In her absence, Jeremy Hanson is acting opposition leader.

Ms Lee thanked her “amazing” healthcare team, and her family for their incredible support.

“I am grateful for the support from my colleagues across the political spectrum, and thank everyone for their well wishes,” Ms Lee said.
