The Soho Development, Calypso Apartments, at a Northbourne Avenue construction site made big news towards the middle of the month when part of the excavation shoring works collapsed. Just two days after the initial incident, Worksafe ACT approved remedial works to begin. The collapse ignited calls for more licensing and regulations to be in place in the ACT infrastructure scene.

Brittany Higgins gave her evidence recalling what happened on the night and why she deleted photos from her phone before giving it to police. She was unable to return to finish cross-examination with the trial predicted to continue for another five weeks in her absence.

Canberra Halloween House in Wanniassa reopens for frightful fun
Seeing out the spookiest month of the year was the return of the beloved Wanniassa Halloween House. Connie and Ian Warburton opened their house of horrors to raise money for the Stella Bella Foundation. Gold cold entry got children access to the house of dragons, witchery, and ghouls, a lolly bag, and the chance to dip their hands into the cauldron for a toy.
