Canberra’s very own The Cupping Room has the best “smooth Aussie flat white” in Australia as voted by participants in the Uniquely Aussie Awards.
Run by travel app Wotif.com, the awards offer an annual guide to Australia’s best local gems, as voted by Aussies.
The Cupping Room was the ACT’s only national winner in the awards, which featured six categories: Best Flat White, Best Brewery, Best Hotel Room Service, Best Sanga, Best Botanic Gardens, and Best Hot Springs.
The award accolade stated: “Best Flat White: The Cupping Room, ACT – Despite Melbourne being the unofficial coffee capital of the world, it’s the nation’s capital that claims this win. The Cupping Room, ACT is home to the best aromatic flat white, brewed by award-winning roasters from the highest quality and sustainable green coffee beans. This is the perfect place for a pitstop on your next road trip.”
(Of course, Canberrans know our city has been the real coffee capital since 2015 when Sasa Sestic, aka “The Coffee Man”, won the Australian Barista Championship followed by the World Barista Championship.)
The ACT state finalists for the remaining categories include:
- Best Sandwich: Little Luxton, Gordon
- Best Botanic Gardens: Australian National Botanic Gardens
- Best Hotel Room Service: East Hotel
- Best Brewery: Capital Brewery Co, Fyshwick
According to Wotif Managing Director, Daniel Finch, with one in seven businesses in Australia directly connected to tourism, the awards are focused on recognising and celebrating some of the very best.
