Canberraโ€™s 2019 Good Food Month is set to get underway in March, with a host of events taking place around the city. International and local chefs will showcase the very best of Canberraโ€™s food scene with the Night Noodle Markets kicking off the festivities, and food events featuring Adam Liaw (pictured), Lennox Hastie and James Viles and Canberraโ€™s young rising culinary stars lead by Aubergineโ€™s Ben Willis. Also keep an eye out for โ€˜Letโ€™s Do Lunchโ€™, where Good Food Guidehatted restaurants will be offering fine dining experiences for $45.

Canberra beer celebrated

Canberra breweries BentSpoke and Capital Brewing Co. are showing the nation how itโ€™s done, after placing in the Great Australian Beer Spectacularโ€™s (GABS) Hottest 100 Craft Beers of 2018. BentSpokeโ€™s Crankshaft IPA took out third place in the nationwide poll. Capital Brewing had an impressive six beers in the top 100, with their Coast Ale coming in 15th. Between the two breweries, they held 11 of the top 100 spots. The GABS Hottest 100 began in 2008 in a Melbourne pub, and has continued to grow, attracting hundreds of thousands of votes annually.

Summer Sunday Sounds

Summer Sunday Sounds will be kicking off at Contentious Character vineyard from February, with a range of Canberraโ€™s award-winning musicians putting on a show. See the likes of Angela Lount and Wayne Kelly, Guy Lilleyman, Richard Perso and Matt Withers. Enjoy the season changing menu and a glass (or two) of Contentious Characterโ€™s cool climate wines, while lounging on the lawn with the bands.
