Isabella Plains man faces multiple sexual assault charges

A 33-year-old Isabella Plains man will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning charged with four counts of sexual intercourse without consent that police will allege happened in a car after meeting the woman on dating app Bumble.

It is alleged the man met the woman on the night of Friday 9 September at a Kingston hotel after communicating via the dating service. 

After meeting at the hotel, the court will hear that the two drove to Yarralumla where police will allege the man sexually penetrated the woman four times without her consent. 

The woman reported the matter to police the day after before attending hospital to participate in a forensic medical examination. 

After investigating the matter, police arrested the man at a café in Greenway yesterday 2 October. 

As well as facing four counts of sexual intercourse without consent – reckless, the man was also charged with one count of act of indecency without consent and one count of act of indecency – third degree/self. 

He will appear before the ACT Magistrate’s Court this morning.
