Man dies in Kings Highway crash east of Bungendore

A man has died following a three-vehicle crash on the Kings Highway at Mulloon NSW, between Bungendore and Braidwood, today, Thursday 13 January.

About 12.15pm today, emergency services were called to the Kings Highway, near Goulburn Road, Mulloon, after reports of a crash.

Upon arrival, officers from Monaro Police District found a Mazda sedan and a heavy vehicle had impacted, before the sedan and an Audi SUV collided head-on.

The driver and sole occupant of the sedan – a man aged 51 – died at the scene.

The male driver of the heavy vehicle was not injured, while the male driver of the SUV and his female front seat passenger sustained minor injuries. A child in the back seat was not injured.

The Kings Highway East of Bungendore was closed, and diversions were in place at Bungendore township and Goulburn Road.

A crime scene has been established and police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
