As well as recording no COVID-19 cases again, the ACT has also recorded no fines for non-compliance with the recently increased COVID-19 public health directions this week.
This is despite more than 80 in-person compliance checks, over than 3,500 phone calls and 840 traffic stops having been made as ACT Policing enforce COVID-19 public health directions.
Police and ESA personnel have conducted more than 3,500 phone calls checking on people under Stay-at-Home directions, and more than 80 in-person compliance checks.
Police officers have also conducted more than 840 traffic stops confirming the occupant’s right to be in the ACT.
Any breaches detected have been minor and resolved swiftly after they were discovered.
Acting Deputy Chief Police Officer, Hall O’Meagher said the results were good, and he hoped the trend continues.
“Since Monday, we’ve made contact with thousands of people, in person and on the phone, and found no serious issues,” said acting Commander O’Meagher.
“The community has not hesitated to do the right thing and report when they think something isn’t right. We’ve responded to more than 60 reports of non-compliance, and when action has been necessary, people have complied with instructions.
“Things are going well, let’s keep them going well. Do the little things. Wear a mask, use the Check in CBR app and keep across any changes to health directions.”
