Jyle Molloy revealed as February road fatality as police seek additional witnesses

ACT Policing is seeking information and dash cam footage in relation to a collision in which a man died on Pialligo Avenue on Sunday 27 February.

On the night he died, 28-year-old Queanbeyan man Jyle Molloy attended the Red Hot Summer festival in Commonwealth Park. He was wearing black jeans, a black ‘Gee-d-up’ t-shirt, Nike shoes and he was carrying a Gucci brand bumbag.

Between the hours of 9.30pm and 10.45pm ACT Policing has confirmed Jyle spent some time in the City with friends, before walking alone towards Canberra Olympic Pool and up to Constitution Avenue in Russell.

His last known sighting was around 10.45pm in Russell before he was discovered deceased at approximately 11.05pm on Pialligo Avenue.

Investigators have determined Jyle would have had to travel by vehicle from Russell to Pialligo Avenue in the time before his death.

Jyle was discovered with injuries consistent with being struck by a moving vehicle and he was found shortly after he was struck.

Anyone who saw or collected Jyle on the evening of the 27 February anywhere between Russell and Pialligo or was travelling eastbound on Pialligo Avenue, towards Queanbeyan should contact police.

Additionally, police would like to speak to anyone who drove from the city towards Queanbeyan via the airport between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Sunday 27 February.

Anyone who can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.  Please quote 7045713.
