ACT Policing has been advised by the management of Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) that widespread camping at the site needs to cease on Sunday 13 February.  Â
Significant planned work at the venue is to occur in the lead up to the Royal Canberra Show. The venue must be clear of people and equipment for this work to occur safely.
As such, people who do not have bookings at the venue past Saturday, 12 February 2022 will be expected to leave by the end of this coming weekend.
ACT Policing is working with EPIC management today to notify campers that they will need to vacate the site by the end of the weekend.
People who remain in EPIC after this time may be considered trespassing.
ACT Policing urges those staying at EPIC to respect the management of the venue and arrange to leave the facility peacefully by Sunday.
The Lifeline Book Fair at EPIC is proceeding as planned. Visitors should consider using public transport if possible, as parking is currently limited.
ACT Policing reiterates its support for the right of individuals to conduct peaceful protests, but visitors camping in the ACT need to do so lawfully. Â
Meanwhile, a large vaccine mandate protest is expected to get underway tomorrow morning at Parliament House.
The organised protest activity on Saturday morning is expected to affect Commonwealth Avenue with motorists advised to avoid the area.Â
