The Canberra Raiders’ only trial match has been moved to Queanbeyan with the club set to take on the Sydney Roosters at Seiffert Oval on Saturday 27 February.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at Leichardt Oval in Sydney, but the Greater Sydney lockdowns over the Christmas holiday period saw both clubs agreed to move the game.
The regional venue increases the likelihood of the important trial going ahead and minimises the risk of impact on player movements before round one of the NRL two weeks later.
The move may also give Raiders fans a chance to see their team before the season proper begins with the club to provide information on any possible access for members and fans once available.
Tickets for the match will be made exclusively available to 2021 Raiders and Roosters members with limited tickets available.

With every team playing just one trial this season, the match becomes important to get game time into the Raiders lineup before their round one clash against the Wests Tigers on Sunday 14 March 4.05pm.
The pre-season contest will be the first match at the Raiders former home ground since they played the Newcastle Knights in a trial in 2017.
Seiffert Oval served as the Raiders home ground for the first eight seasons of their existence, from 1982 to 1989 before moving to the then Bruce Stadium.
For all the history buffs out there, Canberra played the Roosters eight times at Seiffert Oval between 1982 and 1989, winning five and losing three.
Their last encounter at the ground was in round 18, 1989 with Tim Sheens as Raiders coach and Mal Meninga captain.
In front of 6,021 fans, the Green Machine came away with a 14-10 victory and went on to win their first premiership that year.
