A major trend we’re seeing on the red carpets this year is recycling. Stars have been reaching into designers’ archives (and their own closets) in the name of sustainability, with some seriously stellar results.
Joaquin Phoenix at the Golden Globes. The Joker star wore the same Stella McCartney tuxedo to every awards season event. Saoirse Ronan in Gucci at the Oscars. The bodice of her gown was created using leftover black satin fabric from the creation of her BAFTAs dress. 
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge at the BAFTAs, re-wearing a gown from one of her favourite design houses, Alexander McQueen. 
Elizabeth Banks at the Vanity Fair Oscars after party, opting to re-wear the Badgley Mischka gown she wore to the same event in 2004.
