Jean Pierre Neves, known to everyone as JP, has spent almost two-thirds of his life watching McDonald’s family restaurants keep pace with an ever-evolving world.
“Maccas was my fourth or fifth job. I had worked in car yards and dabbled in finance, and was almost 21 when I started, so I was a bit of a ‘late’ bloomer,” says Paul Wywsik, who, at 39 years old, supervises several restaurants across Canberra.
After 28 years of rising through the ranks in the McDonald’s career path, Jack ‘Big Mac’ Abdel Malak, supervisor for McDonald’s North Canberra, reflects on his very first day on the job back in 1994.
“It started off as a way to enter the workforce and ended up being my gateway into Canberra,” says 27-year-old restaurant manager of McDonald’s Dickson, Kailee Murdoch.
No need to leave the kids at grandma’s next weekend; there’s loads of entertainment at the grand reopening of McDonald’s Dickson, taking place Saturday 4 December with festivities kicking off at 11am.
