Canberra's public transport numbers have soared during the first week of school, with new data showing the best patronage since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
A pedestrian has died after being struck by a tram in Melbourne's south. Police believe the person was struck by the tram on Kings Way near York Street in South Melbourne just after 1.30pm on Saturday.
