Three drug drivers were apprehended by ACT Policing in a three-hour period yesterday and will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 2 September, on a number of charges.
About 3pm yesterday, Tuesday 1 September, police were patrolling Hawker when they stopped a vehicle and a 38-year-old unlicensed driver underwent a roadside drug test and returned a positive result.
The man was conveyed to the ACT Regional Watch House. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today on charges including drug driving, being an unlicensed driver and number plates not being displayed.
About the same time yesterday (3pm), police were conducting a mobile patrol in Chisholm when a 28-year-old woman failed to stop and continued driving on Heagney Crescent.
A short time later, the driver stopped the vehicle and fled, jumping several fences, before being apprehended by police on Prichard Circuit.
The driver underwent a roadside drug test, returned a positive result and was taken to the ACT Regional Watch House.
The 28-year-old will face the ACT Magistrates Court today on charges including driving while disqualified, drug driving, fail to stop motor vehicle for police, driving an uninsured and unregistered vehicle.
About 5.30pm yesterday, a 31-year-old man was stopped by police in Higgins and returned a positive roadside drug test.
The 31-year-old man was taken to the ACT Regional Watch House. The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today on charges including drug driving, driving while licensed suspended in a vehicle with suspended registration.
In addition, a teenage drug driver will also face court today on a number of driving offences following a pursuit last night.
