What’s on around Canberra this weekend 19-21 August

Looking for something fun to do this weekend, 19-21 August? We have you covered.

It’s the second weekend of National Science Week and there are a number of events happening around the capital to celebrate. Canberra Glassworks are again hosting demonstrations, while Fungi Co presents a film all about how fungi have shaped our world.

If you feel like a spot of shopping, markets are plentiful. The Rotary Club of Murrumbidgee Canberra are holding their seasonal antique fair at Albert Hall, while Kippax, Calwell and Queanbeyan host their monthly community markets.

Antique and Collectible Fair: Hunt for jewels and treasure at the Rotary Club of Murrumbidgee Canberra’s seasonal event, Albert Hall, 19-21 August; $10 entry.

Night Markets: The community-run event runs every Friday 4-8pm at Anktell Street, Tuggeranong.

Community Market: The monthly markets come to Calwell shopping centre on the 3rd Saturday of the month 9am-3pm, and Queanbeyan Park on the 3rd Sunday 9am-2pm. 

Kippax Marketplace: Indoor market runs 3rd Saturday of every month 8am-12pm, at Kippax Uniting Church Community Centre; free entry.

Bric-a-Brac Rummage: Hunt for second-hand treasure in front of South.Point, Tuggeranong, Sunday 9am-3pm.

Old Bus Depot Markets: The much-loved markets are back at the Old Bus Depot in Kingston, Sundays 9.30am-2.30pm; obdm.com.au
