Witnesses sought to Flemington Road collision

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious collision on Flemington Road, Harrison on Saturday night.

About 10.55pm, Saturday 19 August, police received multiple reports of a collision between two vehicles on the southbound lanes of Flemington Road near Harrison.

Witnesses identified three men getting out of a silver Holden Commodore and fleeing the scene immediately after it collided with a Nissan Leaf that was carrying four people. One of the four people received minor injuries in the collision.

A subsequent search of the area located the three men and as none of them nominated a driver of the vehicle, all were subsequently arrested and charged with failing to provide particulars following a collision, failing to render assistance to an injured person and either refusing to provide a breath sample or drink driving. They are scheduled to appear in court in October.

Police would like to speak to anyone (who has not already spoken to investigators) that witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage of the silver Commodore prior to the collision.

Anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or on the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 7515090.
