Queanbeyan records 12 new COVID-19 cases, 8 in Goulburn

Queanbeyan has recorded another 12 new cases of COVID-19 out of the 20 total in the Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

Out of the 12 new cases in the Queanbeyan-Palerang region (Karabar, Crestwood, Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Bungendore), just two are linked and ten are under investigation.

The other eight cases in Southern NSW are in Goulburn and they are all under investigation.

196 cases total have been detected by SNSWLHD since the start of the current outbreak in June.

The regions within the SNSWLHD that have active cases are Queanbeyan-Palerang (64), Goulburn (53), Eurobodalla (32), Yass (13) and Snowy Monaro region (7).

Eight patients are currently in hospital with the virus.

The news comes as NSW recorded 864 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths, taking the toll for the state’s current outbreak beyond 350.
