29-year-old woman caught speeding and drink driving on Gungahlin Drive

A 29-year-old woman from Bruce has been caught speeding and drink driving following a traffic stop on Gungahlin Drive, Bruce.

About 11:15pm on Tuesday 17 May, officers from ACT Road Policing detected a vehicle travelling at 142 km/h in the 90 km/h zone on Gungahlin Drive.

Police stopped the vehicle and the female driver was transported to Belconnen Police Station after returning a positive roadside breath test.

The result of the breath test at the station indicated 0.116 grams of alcohol per 210 litres of breath. The driver was issued an immediate suspension notice, suspending her licence for three months.

The woman was released from police custody and received a Court Attendance Notice to attend the ACT Magistrates Court in July 2022 in relation to exceeding the speed limit (Non-School Zone Greater than 45km/h) and drink driving (Level 3 PCA).

ACT Road Policing will continue to target excessive speeding and urges drivers to slow down and drive to the conditions.
