60-year-old woman dies following Snowy Mountains motorcycle accident

A woman has died after being airlifted to Canberra Hospital following a serious motorcycle crash in the Snowy Mountains region yesterday.

The 60-year-old was riding along the Snowy Mountains Highway near Kiandra, about 2km south of Links Road, at approximately 10:40am, Sunday 3 November, when her motorbike veered off the road and down a small embankment.

NSW Ambulance attended the scene, treating her for critical injuries before she was airlifted to Canberra Hospital where she passed away later that day.

Officers from the Monaro Police District have commenced an investigation, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

This follows two recent fatal motorcycle crashes in the ACT, one on Gungahlin Drive and the other on Lady Denman Drive.
