ACT man faces court for uploading intimate content online without consent

A 26-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, 8 January, charged with distributing intimate images without consent.

The accused was arrested yesterday, four months after the victim reported the matter to Police on Saturday, 5 September 2020.

The man facing court filmed himself having sexual intercourse with the victim and allegedly uploaded it to a pornographic website without the victim’s knowledge at a later date.

The victim contacted authorities after discovering the footage they were pictured in on the website, and it has since been taken down by administrators of the adult site.

The accused faces the charge of non-consensual distribution of intimate images.

Also facing the courts, a 26-year-old Theodore man was arrested in Banks yesterday following a large police operation to locate him in Holt on Wednesday, 6 January.

He was wanted for several offences in both NSW and the ACT while on bail, and his charges included riding a stolen motor vehicle, attempted aggravated robbery, possessing an offensive weapon, property damage, common assault and breaching a family violence order.

Last night, a 20-year-old Fisher woman was arrested in Belconnen in connection with the stolen vehicle.

ACT Policing charged her with driving a stolen motor vehicle, unlicenced and aggravated dangerous driving and drug possession.
