Body of missing woman located in Yass River

A body believed to be that of woman missing from Yass since July has been located in the Yass River.

The 34-year-old woman was last seen at a property on Yass River Road, Yass River, about 10.30am on Sunday 16 July 2023.

She was reported missing to NSW Police officers from The Hume Police District, who commenced inquiries into her whereabouts with extensive searches conducted of the surrounding area.

On Sunday 3 September, the body of a woman was located in the Yass River at Yass.

The body has now been identified as that of the missing woman, however, will undergo a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

A report will be prepared for the NSW Coroner.
