Canberra man in his 20s with COVID dies

A man in his 20s with COVID-19 has died in the ACT.

Health authorities have not revealed the man’s vaccination status or whether he had any underlying health conditions. ACT Health reported the death on Thursday, taking the toll in the national capital to 32 from 43,246 positive cases recorded throughout the pandemic.

There were 47 people in hospital with COVID-19, including three in intensive care, two of whom are on ventilators.

Authorities reported 537 new cases, taking the number of active cases in the Territory to 2565.

So far, 98.6 per cent of the ACT population aged over 12 have received two doses of the vaccine.
