Promising inspiration for any occasion, the CBR Fair is ready to flourish on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February in an immersive, free entry, weekend event at Thoroughbred Park.

Designed to help guests create their perfect occasion, the Canberra community will be invited to experience and explore four zones: weddings, events, travel, and lifestyle.

Danielle Cleary, owner and director of Danielle Cleary Events (DCE), said guests will be immersed in business exhibits, wedding industry suppliers, market tables, live music, food trucks and designer fashion runway parades.

“We’re bringing all of those four zones together … it’s definitely a beautiful journey of a little bit of everything, the best Canberra has to offer.

“Our official beauty partner is Napoleon Perdis which is really exciting,” she said.

Previously known as the Canberra Wedding Fair, CBR Fair has expanded to present a collaboration of new ideas and concepts.

According to Ms Cleary, expanding the Fair was always her plan.

“I just thought it needed to be so much more interactive and interesting … whatever the occasion, we have your inspiration,” she said.

Drawing on the Fair’s experienced premier partners of designers, stylists, creatives and promoters, CBR Fair will be an exclusive showcase of brands. CBR Fair also invited new businesses, emerging talent and businesses offering new products or services to showcase in the inaugural Take Flight Market.

“We want to be on that journey with them as they grow. I am only a small business myself so I understand … they see the excitement of what I am trying to achieve and how they can be a part of that. Together that can be infectious,” said Ms Cleary.

“A lot of people are watching to wait to see what we’re achieving and then I think the growth will be exponential. We can keep inviting people back every single time because there will be new businesses or new offerings available for the Fair.”

Some of the highlights of the two-day experience include The Foodie Fair co-hosted with Experience Eats, live music by the Rich Pitcher Band, giant games, interactive workshops and more.

Experience Eats owner and Fair co-host, Russell Evans, said an extensive COVID-safe plan has been developed by working closely with ACT Policing, Events ACT and ACT Health, and thanks to the expansive space available at the venue, Thoroughbred Park.

“We are excited to engage with the community at the Fair,” he said.

“It has been a lot of hard work,” Ms Cleary agreed.

“The Fair has that ability to be something quite special for the Canberra community and the surrounding region. By moving to a two-day event, we want to encourage people to visit Canberra.

“We definitely want to encourage regional travel, to support our hotel and catering industry, and for people to enjoy the facets of the weekend celebration at the Fair.”
