CCTV footage relating to Civic assault released

ACT Policing have released security camera footage relating to a Civic assault last month, before the current lockdown, in the hope it can aid their investigation by identifying five individuals.

On Sunday 8 August, a 20-year-old man was assaulted at about 5am, outside a convenience store at the London Circuit end of Petrie Plaza in Civic.

After the assault, the victim required hospital treatment for his injuries.

Police have released the CCTV footage captured in the area of Civic around the time of the assault in order to identify the five people shown and generate a full chronology of the events of that morning.

Anyone who can identify any of the people highlighted in the CCTV footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 6871946.

Information can be provided anonymously.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault who has not yet spoken to police about it.
