Kambah man charged with heroin related manslaughter

ACT Policing has charged a 40-year-old Kambah man with manslaughter after police allege he injected his partner with heroin, causing her to overdose in August of 2021.

About 8.10pm on 19 August 2021, emergency services received reports of a woman who had collapsed in a Florey residence after being injected with heroin.

When emergency services arrived, CPR was commenced and the woman was transported to the Northside Canberra Hospital (formerly known as Calvary) where she was later declared deceased.

The man was arrested today, Monday 24 July, and is set to face the ACT Magistrates Court this afternoon. He has been charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of administering a declared substance without authorisation.
