Wallaroos Lock Michaela Leonard will captain the Brumbies for this season’s Super W season.
The ACT local was part of the inaugural Brumbies Super W group and has been a mainstay in the side since making her debut in 2018.
Wagga Wagga product Harriet Elleman will be the side’s vice-captain, the rake having also been part of every Brumbies Super W group to date.
Tabcorp Brumbies Captain, Michaela Leonard said she can’t wait to lead the girls out on Saturday.
“It’s a true honour for me to lead this group this year.”
“I love this team and this organisation. I’ve been lucky enough to represent the Brumbies since 2018 so I’ll be very proud to lead the girls out.
“I think we have a great team this year, some really exciting backs and a good, hard-working forward pack so I can’t wait to see how we put it all together against the Rebels on Saturday.”
Brumbies Head Coach, Dan Hawke said Leonard leads with her actions in training and games.
“Michaela is now an experienced player on the field, a really positive voice in the group and someone who leads with her actions around training and games so she’ll be a great skipper for us.
“Harriet as well, is someone who has been so impressive with her dedication and application to training, and we’re very confident they’ll help drive us on Saturday and up in Coffs Harbour.”
