A man and woman have died in a shooting in Victoria’s west.

Police were called to the incident on Kennel Road in Ararat about 11.45am on Tuesday.

An 87-year-old woman died at the scene.

A 91-year-old man was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries but he also passed away.

The people were known to each other and detectives are not looking for anyone else in relation to their deaths.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
