Staying sun safe this spring

After a cold winter, the sun is beginning to peak through the clouds. Although the warmer weather is welcome, we need to start implementing warm weather sun safety to avoid burns, pigmentation and cancer risks. We all know the sun safe jingle slip, slop slap, in this edition we are focusing on the slop – our favourite sunscreens.

Face

La Roche Posay Anthelios KA+ SPF50+ 50ml, $39.99, Chemist Warehouse

Thick and creamy, there is a reason people go mad for La Roche Posay sun products, this is one of the best they offer.

Coco & Eve Daily Water Gel SPF 50+ Sunscreen, 39.00, cocoandeve.com

Light and non-greasy, this one leaves no white cast and sits perfectly under make-up.

Sunscreen infused Make-up

A setting spray and sunscreen all in one, yes please. This one is also good for those mid-day top ups when you don’t want to risk ruining make-up. The hydrating lip balm is one of the few sunscreen lip products that doesn’t leave an unpleasant aftertaste, highly recommend.

Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Huez Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum Mineral SPF 30, $54 and Hydra Vizor Refillable Case, $8, Sephora

There is no need to wear foundation if you are looking for a light coverage, this sunscreen is available in a broad range of shades to suit all tones. The SPF is not quite as high as I would normally wear/is recommended so I would leave this one for the off-summer months.

Body

Coconut Sunscreen SPF 50+, $32.95, wearefeelgoodinc.com.au

Smells divine and goes on smoothly without leaving your hands feeling greasy. This was my go-to all of last summer.

Sensitive Sunscreen SPF 50+, $19.95, cancercouncilshoporg.au

You can’t look past the organisation devoted to eliminating cancer, the sensitive offering is perfect for all skin types.
