Rydges has re-opened its doors after a refurbishment of all its public areas, and the jewel in the crown is the centrepiece of the hotel’s atrium: The George Bar.
You’ll find inventive cocktails which make use of the hotel’s herb garden, Australian and international drops from a curated wine list, and all the crowd favourites, served alongside a bar menu which will please even the most cuisine-conscious diners, with the likes of duck liver parfait, yellowfin tuna tartare and woodfired pizzas.
The George Bar is the perfect place for knock-off drinks in the lounge, inspired by 1950s Chicago, or a cosy date night by the fireplace – make sure to try the two top-secret signature cocktails, The George for Him and The George for Her, for your special occasion.
For the discerning diners, The George Bar & Grill has a menu to please, with a range of options from oysters and prime rib steaks to elegant pub classics – think wagyu cheeseburger, pork schnitzel and a selection of mouthwatering desserts.
The early birds will be looked after, too, with a breakfast offering that includes options for both savoury lovers and sweet-tooths, including smashed avo, of course, served alongside quality coffee and fresh juices. You can even opt to brunch in style with a glass of French champagne, a bellini or a bloody Mary (or two!).
No matter the time of day or the occasion, the atrium space is welcoming and relaxing, with the fireplace, live foliage and fishpond home to goldfish and koi fish. The space even has its own signature scent – ‘whiskey bar’ – with floral notes that will transport you to times of old, and a custom playlist for just the right cool, relaxed vibe you want from a local hotspot.
