The Upper House venues have in-built audio-visual equipment and screen connectivity. With a fantastic range of affordable menu packages on offer to suit meetings, conferences, dinners and cocktail parties, the Royal Hotel is the perfect place to celebrate any occasion.

All event spaces flow out into the Atrium and outdoor Terrace Courtyard, showcasing its two towering Japanese Maple trees. This hidden gem is a shared area for all Upper House private events onsite.

MANHATTAN ROOM

The largest room of the Upper House showcases a private entrance and is home to the Chicago Bar. The Manhattan Room boasts a large viewing screen and in-house speakers providing an ideal venue for seminars, planning days, conferences, dinners or cocktails.

Adjoined by the atrium and outdoor courtyard, offering natural light and ambiance, this venue is ideal for up to 70 guests cabaret, 120 guests for a seated event or 200 guests for a standing event.

MENZIES ROOM

This original private space has been recreated to be intimate and exclusive, flowing out to the outdoor Terrace Courtyard and Atrium. The Menzies Room is ideal for small meetings, planning days, as a breakout room or for intimate dinners. It holds capacity for a 24-guest boardroom, 40 guests for a seated event or 60 guests for a standing event.

BEADMAN ROOM

Our most private and intimate room is perfect as a breakout room or for a small intimate dinner. The Beadman Room has capacity for a 24-guest seated event.

Gema Group functions at Manuka Oval

Nestled in the National Triangle is one of Canberra’s most unique function venues.

Manuka Oval is the premier site for cricket and AFL events in Canberra. However, it’s available to hire during the other 355 days a year for a variety of events ranging from cocktail parties to conferences to day delegates to dinner parties.

The Bradman Room can host up to 300 guests and features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the field of play. The Media Centre, built for camera decks and commentators, is the best seat in the house and can accommodate up to 50 guests on each of its three unique levels.

If the view from your indoor function isn’t exciting enough, get up close and personal with the field and hire a marquee on the midwicket deck. Organising a Christmas party has never been so easy.

Work together with Gema Catering to curate a bespoke food and beverage offering suited perfectly to your event. With a strong focus on local flavours (cool climate Riesling anyone?) Gema uses fresh, quality ingredients to create food that is simple and delicious.
