Thompson Bespoke Jewellers make Christmas sparkle

Celebrate this Christmas with the gift of a pink diamond piece of jewellery. Each piece is unique and special as these are the rarest and most valuable and sought-after diamonds on the planet.

Since our Australian Argyle mine is mined out and closed in November 2020, these are the only ones now available for sale and cannot be replaced. The value of pink diamonds has doubled and tripled over the years and many are sold to be locked away as investments.

Or you might prefer to buy an unset diamond and, with our help, design your own piece to be created in our workshop.

We can incorporate parts of your older pieces that you haven’t worn in years and make something completely new and fresh whilst incorporating a sentimental attachment.

Here at Thompson Bespoke, we can provide a complete design and manufacturing service, with a valuation provided for any of our pieces we offer for sale. We can add Australian chocolate diamonds and high quality white diamonds into the mix, or some Australian South Sea pearls, of which we keep an extensive collection from Kailis and Autore.

With 30 years’ experience in Canberra at Briolette, where Diana was half owner and Travis was a Master Jeweller for 15 years, there is plenty of knowledge and experience as our satisfied customers will attest to.

Only a tiny percentage of ladies in the world can ever own a pink diamond in their lifetime, so ladies come and join the club.

Deck the halls with farm-fresh market produce

Think farm-fresh market produce and you just can’t go past Canberra’s favourite farmers market, the Capital Region Farmers Market. And right now, the region’s farmers, producers and makers are busy in the fields and kitchens – just like Santa’s elves – to ensure the best and freshest seasonal food is on offer for Canberrans at Christmas time.

“It’s definitely a big time of year at Market when it comes to delivering the most delicious Christmas produce,” says Capital Region Farmers Market Manager, Sarah Power.

“Buying from the Market is also a great way to give back at this time of year as our Market is owned and operated by the Rotary Club of Hall, and all proceeds go directly to supporting important and regional projects,” Sarah says.

“For the star of your Christmas tables, we’ve got fresh seafood from the South Coast. Our friends from Narooma Seafood will be at the Market on 16 and 23 December, and for oyster lovers, we’ve got fresh Pambula oysters from Banjo’s Oysters every Saturday.

Cherries

“The Christmas hams are all lined up, and there’s plenty of chicken, duck, lamb, pork and beef for your Christmas Day feasts,” Sarah says.

For those who like to opt out of eating meats, the Market will of course be loaded up with the freshest vegetables, including many organic varieties, and this year’s summer fruit is outstanding.

“We’ve had the best cherries with bountiful supply from Young and Nashdale, along with peaches, nectarines and apricots.”

Sarah says that the local and regional bakers have been run off their feet to ensure a strong supply of Christmas puddings, fruit mince tarts and other sweet festive treats. And there are plenty of great gift ideas on hand for that foodie friend in your life – with olive oils and olives, fresh cultured butter, wines, spirits, chocolates and nuts.

For those seeking a real Christmas tree, the Market will have live cut and potted Christmas trees this coming weekend and again on Saturday 16 December. And there’s plenty of fresh flowers and plant growers to brighten up the home and garden for your loved ones.

The Capital Region Farmers Market is open each Saturday 7-11.30am between now and Christmas, with the final Market for 2024 on Saturday 23 December. The Market will then take a short break for the holidays, returning on Saturday 13 January 2024.
