Direct Canberra-Nadi flights to increase to 3 times weekly

Following strong demand for direct flights between Canberra and Nadi which take-off next week, the Fiji Airways service will increase from twice weekly, to three times weekly from 1 October.

Canberra Airport and Fiji Airways announced that the service, launching on 21 July, will initially operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, and from October, also on Sundays.

Canberra Airport’s Managing Director, Stephen Byron, said he was pleased to welcome the additional
schedule from October.

“The strong forward bookings for flights to Fiji is a clear indicator of the demand for international travel from Canberra,” he said. “We are excited to relaunch our international operations and thank Fiji Airways for their strong show of support for the Nation’s Capital.”

The arrival of Fiji Airways not only provides Canberrans, and the wider region, the opportunity to visit the magnificent holiday destination of Fiji, but provides fast connections from Fiji to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and Vancouver.

Guests can book fares from Canberra to Fiji with Fiji Airways for just $539 return.

Speaking of the new service, Fiji Airways’ CEO and Managing Director, Andre Viljoen said, “This route expansion is a testament to the continuous demand for travel to Fiji and our commitment to providing exceptional service, as well as convenient connections to long-haul destinations.

“We look forward to welcoming more and more Canberra residents on board, where they will experience the renowned warmth and hospitality that Fiji Airways is known for.”

With the launch of this route, Fiji Airways will operate 22 direct services to Nadi, and offer the only direct service connecting Canberra to Nadi.

Mr Viljoen said passengers can expect a world-class travel experience onboard Fiji Airways, with warm Fijian hospitality, exceptional service, and award-winning cuisine.
