If Canberra were a gelato flavour, what would it be?

That’s the question on the lips of Matteo Sassi and his wife Juliana, owners of Florence Gelato at Capital Food Market in Belconnen.

To celebrate their new gelateria which launched on Saturday 20 January, Matteo is after local input to help him make a truly Canberran gelato.

Suggestions can be submitted via Instagram @florence.gelato until Monday 29 January.

The unique, yet-to-be-created flavour will be available for a limited time in late summer.

National Croissant Day in Canberra

Are you a bit flaky, motivated by dough, and love a traditional buttery French pastry? National Croissant Day is 30 January, and to celebrate, local purveyor of fine baked goods, Three Mills Bakery, is seeking applications for a Chief Croissant Consumption Officer.

To claim the title, simply head to threemillsbakery.com.au/national-croissant-day-competition-2024 and tell them in 25 words or fewer why you’re the best person for the job.

The winner gets to enjoy a croissant at Three Mills Bakery each and any day of the year and receives a box of bake-at-home croissants delivered to their door each month for a year.
