More apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities and pathways into training are available for Canberrans under the ACT Governmentโs 2020โ21 Future Skills for Future Jobs (FSFJ) Grants Program.
The government will provide $990,000 for innovative industry projects that promote market diversity and aim to increase the uptake of Australian Apprenticeships in the ACT. Applications opened Monday, and will close 18 February.
Chris Steel, Minister for Skills, said the projects funded through the FSFJ Grants Program would create more jobs, and address future workforce needs in the ACT.
โThe program will support Canberrans to attain skills that will be in high demand in the future and skills that will provide ongoing job opportunities here in the ACT,โ he said.
Mr Steel encouraged local businesses โ particularly in growth industries such as healthcare, community services, renewable energy, and cybersecurity โ to apply for a grant.
The program is open to a range of organisations including employers, industry associations, community organisations, Registered Training Organisations, and Group Training Organisations. The maximum amount of funding that can be sought is $300,000 per project.
The FSFJ Grants Program was part of the governmentโs plan to create and protect more than 250,000 local jobs by 2025, and complemented the $16.75 million Job Trainer fund, which provides free training places for jobseekers and school leavers.
