GIVIT seeks sewing items

GIVIT is calling for the donation of sewing items for a group of refugee women who recently arrived in Canberra and are looking to start a sewing group. Experiencing severe financial hardship and isolation, they are in need of sewing items such as scissors, thread, needles, elastic, ribbons, binding and buttons, and would also appreciate the donation of two sewing machines, an overlocker and fabric. Kippax Holiday Happenings

Kippax Uniting Church will run its regular Holiday Happenings (craft and games days) for primary school children on Thursdays 13 and 20 April 10am-2pm. Cost: $5 per child, and covers all activities and morning tea. Children need to bring their lunch, hat, and water bottle. Bookings are recommended; call 6254 1733.

ADFAS presentation

Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society Canberra will host a special presentation on Wednesday 12 April 10am-12pm in the Theatrette at Australian Parliament House. Guided Peace Walks

ACT Heritage Festival Rotary Guided Peace Walks through Lennox Gardens to the Canberra Rotary Peace Bell on Saturdays 15 and 22 April. Tours last 1-1.5 hours. Bungendore Harvest Festival

The Festival returns with a full weekend of activities on 14-16 April. Events include a launch dinner on Friday, the festival market in the streets of Bungendore on Saturday morning, a passata and pasta making workshop and long lunch on Sunday, and farm tours over the weekend.
