Have you seen Floyd’s family? Join the great Floriade gnome hunt

With Floriade less than two weeks away, Floyd the Floriade gnome has been busy with preparations. His large family thought this would be a great chance to branch out from Commonwealth Park and see more of our beautiful city, but they’re lost! Now, Floyd needs our help to locate his 35 lost relatives as their absence is keeping him from putting the finishing touches on the flower beds.

We heard the gnome family are a social bunch who love to explore the best shopping, food and napping locations wherever they go. With this information, we suggest keeping an eye out around shopping centres, businesses, libraries, and hotels.

Once you spot one of the Floriade gnomes, scan the QR code they carry with them to let Floyd know their whereabouts. Floyd has announced that he is so grateful to have help locating his relatives that anyone who spots them will go in the running for a special Floriade prize. Enter the Find Floyd’s Family Competition for your chance to win a two-night stay at Hyatt Hotel Canberra, a limousine ride to Floriade, Nightfest tickets, and more.

Be sure to follow Floriade’s Instagram and Facebook for hints to where the gnome family could be spotted.

The 35 lost Floriade gnomes coincide with the Floriade’s 35th anniversary, which this year celebrates the Sounds of Spring. The program includes crowd favourites Nightfest and Dog’s Day Out, as well the introduction of new festivities like the Great Big Bulb Dig and more. It promises to be a Floriade to remember.

The official Floriade festival runs from Saturday 17 September to Sunday 16 October.
