Man charged over trafficable amount of cannabis

A 38-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with possessing a trafficable amount of cannabis and a number of weapons including a taser.

About 10.20am yesterday, Friday 16 October, ACT Policing conducted a search warrant at a residence in Lyneham.

During the extensive search, police located a number of items including five large clip seal bags containing a trafficable amount of cannabis, multiple empty clip seal bags, scales and Australian currency totalling $10,220.

Police also seized a money counting machine, capsicum spray, an extendible baton and a taser concealed in a child’s toy.

The man was subsequently conveyed to the ACT Regional Watch House. He was due to face ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with traffic in cannabis, three counts of possess prohibited weapon and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
